With two teenage daughters, I’m soberly aware how quickly our cultural dialect shifts. Though our idioms have changed, we used to describe ourselves as being “into” someone. Couples would pledge themselves to each other in a faddish lingo – “I’m really into you!”
At first, that merely meant they would focus their full attention on one another. Inevitably, over time, a subtle change would begin to take place. Life would take on a new perspective as each allowed life’s priorities to be reordered around the beloved other. Couples found great joy in merely being together, in sharing common experiences. Everything found new purpose and increased excitement as they centered their affections and activities towards one another.
Imagine living a life that is “into Christ!” Revolving completely around Him. Finding satisfaction in Him. Centered on Him as your top priority. Life finds fulfillment and is given deep meaning; the changing circumstances around you begin to grow dimmer as they find perspective in relation to the deep wholeness Christ brings at the center of your life. Life in Christ is so much more than merely believing. It’s finding your strength, your hope, your very life in Him!
