If we are privileged enough to drive a car, every once in a while it's a good idea to take it to a service station or to inspect it ourselves to ensure it is in suitable working order. You know – proper oil level, sufficient coolant, ample tire pressure, no fluid leaks.
I wonder…if it's a wise practice to employ such a discipline for the caretaking of our car, wouldn’t it also be prudent to occasionally examine our soul?
Now may be a good time to check our own levels. How's our emotional balance? Is there a quiet peace in the middle of our gut? Is our spirit at rest? Are we thinking fresh thoughts of God? Is Jesus Christ a vibrant part of our life?
A few moments checking our levels can be the best action to keep us safe, secure, and healthy as children of God in a hectic schedule.
