Why is it? After one bite of the donut, we find we want more. One handful of caramel corn; one spoonful of ice cream; one potato chip; one bite of steak.
Even after a little bit of exercise, we crave more; a few minutes of silence; a beautiful vista from the mountains; a gentle boat ride – each often leaves us wanting more.
Have you ever noticed that when we have or do something that is really good, we always want more? Even when we take a few moments of quiet reflection, personal devotions and communion with Christ, we find we want more. It’s usually because of a deep hunger that longs for what is good. “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.”
